Brian Jeffrey Claimed That He Was Sexually Assaulted By His Coach When He Was Player.

News was reported by Sports Network that, Brian Jeffrey who is a former hockey player, filed a lawsuit for $5 million against the Greater Toronto League (GTHL). He asserted that, when he was a player his coach assaulted him sexually. Rick Westhead, who is the person of Sports Network, recently posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that, It is surely claimed by Jeffrey that this abuse began in 1976 and at that time he was just only of 15 years old.

In the lawsuit which was filed by Jeffrey, He denounced his coach he was manipulating him to be quiet about his alleged misconduct by using his position and trust. The coach was trying to make him feel special and for that, he was engaged in grooming behaviors with him. He was apparently providing alcohol to Jeffrey. This so-called incident was happening over the years and it was embarrassing for Jeffrey.

Twitter is also paying attention to this lawsuit. According to the tweet, the lawsuit stated that –

The coach used his position of authority and trust ….to ensure that the plaintiff did not tell anyone about the behaviors in which they engaged.
Westhead tweeted “Jeffrey, a retired truck driver, and former hockey player allege the GTHL has fostered a system where reporting such behavior ‘would be considered to be wrong ‘, that it has been willfully blind to such behavior, and that it has implemented and maintained a system designed to cover up such behavior “.

It should be noted that the allegations which are performed with Jeffrey are yet to be verified by a court but in response to this, the GTHL has not filed its statement of defense.

Westhead tweeted “TSN’s policy is not to identify alleged sexual assault victims without their permission, Jeffrey’s lawyer Kalin Stoykov said Jeffrey wanted his name published to help remove the stigma of reporting alleged sexual assault others to come forward”.
